Sugar price drops by Rs 100 per quintal on sluggish demand

Sugar prices tumbled down by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today due to fall in demand amid acceleration in supply on higher levels.

Market players explained about sharp fall in sugar prices to dimming demand from stockist and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and confectioners, sparked by heavy selling by millers on prevailing levels.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices slipped by Rs 70 each to end at Rs 3,730-3,850 and Rs 3,720-3,840 per quintal.

Likewise, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices dipped by Rs 60 each to settle at Rs 3,460-3,540 and Rs 3,450-3,530 per quintal.
 

Among millgate section, the sharp fall of Rs 100 each witnessed in sugar Sakoti, Dhampur and Malakpur at Rs 3,430 each per quintal.

Sugar Mawana, Dhanora Budhana, Thanabhavan and Chandpur slided by Rs 90 each at Rs 3,460, Rs 3,450, Rs 3,460, Rs 3,450 and Rs 3,430, while Dorala fell by Rs 80 at Rs 3,470 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 37.00-42.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,730-3,850, S-30 Rs 3,720-3,840.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,460-3,540, S-30 Rs 3,450-3,530.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,460, Kinnoni Rs 3,540, Asmoli Rs 3,500, Dorala Rs 3,470, Budhana Rs 3,460, Thanabhavan Rs 3,450, Dhanora Rs 3,450, Simbholi Rs 3,550, Khatuli Rs 3,540, Dhampur Rs 3,430, Ramala Rs 3,460, Anupshaher Rs 3,460, Baghpat Rs 3,470, Morna Rs 3,470, Sakoti Rs 3,430, Chandpur Rs 3,430, Nazibabad Rs 3,450 and Malakpur Rs 3,430.
