Sugar price improves on fresh buying

Sugar prices firmed up by Rs 40 per quintal in the national capital today following pick up in demand amid restricted supply from mills.

Marketmen said better offtake by retailers and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers pushed up the sweetener prices.

Fall in supply from mills also helped to boost the trading sentiments, they said.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices asked higher from Rs 2,930-3,190 and Rs 2,920-3,180 to finish at Rs 2,950-3,220 and Rs 2,940-3,210, showing a net profit of Rs 30 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices enquired higher from Rs 2,790-3,040 and Rs 2,780-3,030 to Rs 2,790-3,070 and Rs 2,780-3,060 per quintal.
 

Among millgate including duty section, sugar Khatauli and Simbholi hardened by Rs 40 each to Rs 3,025 and Rs 3,045 per quitnal, while sugar Kinnoni and Asmoli prices moved up by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,070 and Rs 3,025 per quintal.

The following were today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,950-3,220, S-30 Rs 2,940-3,210.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,790-3,070; S-30 Rs 2,780-3,060.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 2905, Kinnoni 3,070, Asmoli 3,025, Dorala 2910, Budhana 2910, Thanabhavan 2900, Dhanora 2895, Simbholi 3,045, Modi Nagar Rs 2,880, Khatuli 3,025, Dhampur 2,860, Ramala 2,810, Bulandshar 2,860, Anupshar 2,790, Baghpat 2,820, Morna 2,815, Sakoti 2,860, Chandpur 2,845, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 2,790.
