Sugar prices climb on strong demand, tight supply

Sugar saw a hefty rise of up to Rs 110 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today largely on the back of brisk demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Besides, tight supplies from millers too supported the upside in the sweetener prices.

Sugar M-30 and S-30 prices zoomed up by Rs 110 each to settle at Rs 3,060-3,130 and Rs 3,050-3,120 per quintal.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices also enquired higher by Rs 50 each at Rs 3,230-3,400 and Rs 3,220-3,390 per quintal.

In millgate including duty section, sugar Chandpur jumped by Rs 110 at Rs 3,060 and Dhampur by Rs 105 to Rs 3,075 per quintal.
 

Sugar Thanabhavan, Budhana and Dhanora climbed by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,070, Rs 3,080 and Rs 3,070, while Sakoti and Malakpur spurted by Rs 90 each to both settle at Rs 3,070 each per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 29.00-36.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,230-3,400, S-30 Rs 3,220-3,390.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,060-3,130, S-30 Rs 3,050-3,120.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,080, Kinnoni Rs 3,130, Asmoli Rs 3,120, Dorala Rs 3,080, Budhana Rs 3,080, Thanabhavan Rs 3,070, Dhanora Rs 3,070, Simbholi Rs 3,120, Khatuli Rs 3,110, Dhampur Rs 3,075, Ramala Rs 3,070, Anupshaher Rs 3,060, Baghpat Rs 3,080, Morna Rs 3,080, Sakoti Rs 3,070, Chandpur Rs 3,060, Nazibabad Rs 3,060 and Malakpur Rs 3,070.
