Sugar prices decline on ample supply

Sugar prices declined by Rs 30 per quintal in the national capital today largely due to mounting stocks following increased supplies from millers.

However, seasonal demand form ice-cream and soft-drink makers, capped the fall in prices, traders said.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 30 each to finish at Rs 3,200-3,400 and Rs 3,180-3,380 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 priced slipped by Rs 25 each to end at Rs 3,090-3,255 and Rs 3,070-3,235 per quintal, respectively.

Among millgate section, sugar mawana and khatuli prices fell by Rs 25 each to Rs 3,145 and Rs 3,225 per quintal.
 

Sugar kinnoni and Simbholi lost Rs 15 each to Rs 3,255 and Rs 3,245 per quintal, while Dorala enquired lower by Rs 10 at Rs 3,170 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,200-3,400, S-30 Rs 3,180-3,380.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,090-3,255; S-30 Rs 3,070-3235.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,145, Kinnoni 3,255, Asmoli 3,220, Dorala 3,170, Budhana 3,140, Thanabhavan 3,130, Dhanora 3,120, Simbholi 3,245, Modi Nagar Rs 3,130, Khatuli 3,225, Dhampur 3,105, Ramala 3,150, Bulandshar 3,110, Anupshar 3,130, Baghpat 3,160, Morna 3,150, Sakoti 3,120, Chandpur 3,100 and Nazibabad 3,140.
