Sugar prices decline on bumper stocks, low demand

Sugar prices fell by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market today in the national capital on ample supplies from mills against restricted demand.

Marketmen said besides reduced demand from stockist and bulk consumers, huge stocks position on persistent supplies by mills, mainly let to fall in sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices settled lower by 10 each to Rs 2,620-2,770 and Rs 2,590-2,760 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices too ended lower by Rs 25 each to Rs 2,475-2,605 and Rs 2,465-2,595 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Simbholi, Baghpat, Ramala, Morna, Sakoti and Nazibabad declined by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,580, Rs 2,510, Rs 2,500, 2,510, Rs 2,490 and Rs 2490 per quintal respectively.
 

Prices of Kinnoni, Asmoli, Modinagar, Anupshaher and Chandpur also moved down by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,605, Rs 2,590, Rs 2,505, Rs 2,490 and Rs 2,480 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 29.00-33.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,620-2,770 S-30 Rs 2,590-2,760.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,475-2,605 S-30 Rs 2,465-2,595.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,510, Kinnoni Rs 2,605, Asmoli Rs 2,590, Dorala Rs 2,520, Budhana Rs 2,515, Thanabhavan Rs 2,505, Dhanora Rs 2,515, Simbholi Rs 2,580, Modi Nagar Rs 2,505, Khatuli Rs 2,580, Dhampur 2,480, Ramala Rs 2,500, Bulandshaher Rs 2,510, Anupshaher Rs 2,490, Baghpat Rs 2,510, Morna Rs 2,510, Sakoti Rs 2,490, Chandpur Rs 2,480, Nazibabad Rs 2,490.
