Press Trust of India New Delhi
Sugar prices dropped by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today largely on pickup in supplies from millers amid muted demand.

Marketmen said mounting stocks following increased supplies from millers against lack of necessary buying support from bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, largely kept pressure on sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices declined by Rs 20 each to end at Rs 2,630-2,760 and Rs 2,620-2,750 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 were lower by Rs 25 each to settle at Rs 2,450-2,605 and Rs 2,440-2,595 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Dhanora and Sakoti fell the most by Rs 30 to conclude at Rs 2,460 per quintal each, while Kinnoni dipped by Rs 25 at Rs 2,605 per quintal.

Prices of Asmoli, Dorala, Simbholi, Khatuli and Dhampur also moved down by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,600, Rs 2,510, Rs 2,610, Rs 2,600 and Rs 2,460 per quintal.
