Sugar prices down on ample stocks

Sugar prices were down by Rs.25 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today largely due to adequate stocks position on persistent supplies from mills amid sluggish demand from bulk consumers.

Marketmen said apart from heavy stocks position on persistent supplies from mills, subdued demand from bulk consumers and retailers, mainly put pressure on sweetner prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices asked lower by Rs.15 each to Rs.2,740-2,975 and Rs.2,720-2,955 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices traded lower by Rs.10 each to Rs.2,660-2,830 and Rs.2,650-2,780 per quitnal.

In millgate section, sugar Modinagar fell by Rs.25 to trade lower at Rs.2,735, followed by Sakoti and Simbholi by Rs.20 each at Rs.2,660 and Rs.2,845 per quintal.
 

Prices of Dorala, Khatuli and Bulandshar were down by Rs.15 each to Rs.2,730, Rs.2,820 and Rs. 2,705 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 30.00-34.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,740-2,975 S-30 Rs 2,720-2,955.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,660-2,830 S-30 Rs 2,650-2,780.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,760, Kinnoni Rs 2,830, Asmoli Rs 2,860, Dorala Rs 2,730, Budhana Rs 2,725, Thanabhavan Rs 2,715, Dhanora Rs 2,720, Simbholi Rs 2,845, Modi Nagar Rs 2,735, Khatuli Rs 2,820, Dhampur 2,730, Ramala Rs 2,680, Bulandshahr Rs 2,705, Anupshahr Rs 2,660, Baghpat Rs 2,690, Morna Rs 2,700, Sakoti Rs 2,660, Chandpur Rs 2,680, Nazibabad Rs 2,670.
