Sugar prices down on huge stocks, sluggish demand

Sugar prices softened by Rs 25 per quintal in the national capital today following adequate stocks position largely on higher supplies from mills against low demand.

Marketmen said besides heavy stocks position, increased supplies from mills and subdued demand from bulk consumers, mainly put pressure on the sweeetner prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices sheded Rs 20 to settle at Rs 3,250-3,450 and Rs 3,230-3,430 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also moved down by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,135-3,295 and Rs 3,120-3,285 per quintal.

In millgate section, sugar Budhana and Thanabhavan lost Rs 25 each at Rs 3,185 and Rs 3,175 per quintal, while kinnoni fell by Rs 15 at Rs 3,295 per quintal.
 

Prices of mawana, asmoli, dorala, bulandshar and anupshar faded by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,190, Rs 3,240, Rs 3,200, Rs 3,145 and Rs 3,140 per quitnal.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,250-3,450, S-30 Rs 3,230-3,430.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,135-3,295; S-30 Rs 3,120-3285.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,190, Kinnoni 3,295, Asmoli 3,240, Dorala 3,200, Budhana 3,185, Thanabhavan 3,175, Dhanora 3,155, Simbholi 3,275, Modi Nagar Rs 3,170, Khatuli 3,265, Dhampur 3,130, Ramala 3,170, Bulandshar 3,145, Anupshar 3,140, Baghpat 3,180, Morna 3,180, Sakoti 3,140, Chandpur 3,135 and Nazibabad 3,140.
