Sugar prices end lower on ample stocks

Sugar prices declined by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following ample stocks amid limited offtake.

Marketmen said mounting ready stocks on steady inflow of supplies from mills due to record output especially in Uttar Pradesh this season, triggered by selective buying by stockists and bulk consumers, mainly led to the fall in sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices were lower by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,950-4,010 and Rs 3,940-4,000 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also fell by Rs 40 each Rs 3,650-3,720 and Rs 3,640-3,710 per quintal.
 

In the millgate section, sugar Asmoli, Kinnoni, Dorala and Dhampur prices dropped by Rs 40 each to Rs 3,700, Rs 3,720, Rs 3,670 and Rs 3,640 per quintal.

Prices of Anupshaher, Nazibabad, Khatuli Budhana and Thanabhavan also fell up to Rs 30 to settle at Rs 3,640, Rs 3,645, Rs 3,690, Rs 3,675 and Rs 3,670 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 41.00-45.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,950-4,010, S-30 Rs 3,940-4,000.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,650-3,720, S-30 Rs 3,640-3,710.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,675, Kinnoni Rs 3,720, Asmoli Rs 3,700, Dorala Rs 3,670, Budhana Rs 3,675, Thanabhavan Rs 3,670, Dhanora Rs 3,700, Simbholi Rs 3,710 Khatuli Rs 3,690, Dhampur Rs 3,640, Ramala Rs 3,650, Anupshaher Rs 3,640, Baghpat Rs 3,660, Morna Rs 3,650, Sakoti Rs 3,660, Chandpur Rs 3,660, Nazibabad Rs 3,645 and Modinagar Rs 3,700.
