Sugar prices end mix on high demand

Sugar displayed mixed trend at the wholesale market in the national capital today with prices of private sugar mills rising on better offtake, while government and co-operative mills were under pressure due to selling.

Marketmen said a spurt in demand following beginning of new month particularly pushed up prices of private sugar mills.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices traded at Rs 3,750-3,900 and Rs 3,740-3,890 compared with previous close of Rs 3,800-3,900 and Rs 3,790-3,890 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 traded at Rs 3,420-3,630 and Rs 3,410-3,620 instead of Rs 3,480-3,620 and Rs 3,470-3,610 per quintal.

In the millgate section, private mills such as Thanabhavan, Dhampur, Budhana, Dorala, Mawana, Dhanora and Khatuli were higher up to Rs 35 to settle at Rs 3,555, 3,490, Rs 3,555, Rs 3,540, Rs 3,525, Rs 3,540 and Rs 3,570 per quintal.
 

On the other hand, government and co-operative mills like Ramala, Baghpat, Anupshaher, Morna and Nazibabad lost Rs 50 each to finish at Rs 3,430, Rs 3,440, Rs 3,430, Rs 3,440 and Rs 3,420 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 38.00-41.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,750-3,900, S-30 Rs 3,740-3,890.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,430-3,630, S-30 Rs 3,420-3,620.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,525, Kinnoni Rs 3,630, Asmoli Rs 3,580, Dorala Rs 3,540, Budhana Rs 3,555,Thanabhavan Rs 3,555, Dhanora Rs 3,540, Simbholi Rs 3,590, Khatuli Rs 3,570, Dhampur Rs 3,490, Ramala Rs 3,430, Anupshaher Rs 3,430, Baghpat Rs 3,440, Morna Rs 3,440, Sakoti Rs 3,500, Chandpur Rs 3,510, Nazibabad Rs 3,420 and Modi nagar 3,525.
