Sugar prices fall on adequate stocks

Amid heavy stocks position on increased supplies by mills, sugar prices fell by Rs 20 per quintal in the wholesale sugar market at national capital today.

Marketmen said apart from heavy stocks in the markets on ample supplies from mills, restricted demand from stockists and bulk consumers, attribuited fall in sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices fell by Rs 20 to finish at Rs 3,280-3,480 and Rs 3,260-3,460 per quintal, respectively.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 slipped to Rs 3,140-3,340 and Rs 3,120-3,330 from Rs 3,140-3,360 and Rs 3,120-3,350 per quintal.

Among millgate section, sugar kinnoni, asmoli, simbholi, khatuli and dhanora lost up to Rs 20 at Rs 3,340, Rs 3,260, Rs 3,290, Rs 3,280 and Rs 3,170 per quintal, respectively.
 

Following are today's quotations per quintal: Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,280-3,480, S-30 Rs 3,260-3,460.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,140-3,340; S-30 Rs 3,120-3330.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,230, Kinnoni 3,340, Asmoli 3,260, Dorala 3,240, Budhana 3,240, Thanabhavan 3,230, Dhanora 3,170, Simbholi 3,290, Modi Nagar Rs 3,210, Khatuli 3,280, Dhampur 3,190, Ramala 3,200, Bulandshar 3,160, Anupshar 3,170, Baghpat 3,210, Morna 3,200, Sakoti 3,160, Chandpur 3,140 and Nazibabad 3,190.
