Sugar prices fall on ample stocks, reduced offtake

Sugar prices softened by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following ample stocks on uninterrupted supplies from mills amid reduced offtake by stockists and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said the fall in sweetener prices was mostly attributed to reduced offtake by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers amid soaring stocks.

Prices of sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 came down by Rs 20 each to finish at Rs 3,590-3,800 and Rs 3,580-3,790 per quintal.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices faded by Rs 10 each to settle at Rs 3,930-4,050 and Rs 3,920-4,040 per quintal.
 

In mill gate section, Sugar Mawana, Kinnoni and Asmoli slipped by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,750, Rs 3,800 and Rs 3,760 per quintal.

Sugar Dorala, Nazibabad, Thanabhavan and Budhana also eased by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,745, Rs 3,610, Rs 3,740 and Rs 3,745 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 38.00-42.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,930-4,050, S-30 Rs 3,920-4,040.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,590-3,800, S-30 Rs 3,580-3,790.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,750, Kinnoni Rs 3,800, Asmoli Rs 3,760, Dorala Rs 3,745, Budhana Rs 3,745, Thanabhavan Rs 3,740, Dhanora Rs 3,745, Simbholi Rs 3,745, Khatuli Rs 3,760, Dhampur Rs 3,700, Ramala Rs 3,590, Anupshaher Rs 3,590, Baghpat Rs 3,640, Morna Rs 3,630, Sakoti Rs 3,690, Chandpur Rs 3,660, Nazibabad Rs 3,610, Modinagar 3,735, Shamli 3,740, and Nanota 3,590.
