Sugar prices fall on higher mills selling, selective offtake

Sugar prices drifted by Rs 45 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased supplies from mills amid scattered demand at current levels.

Marketmen said ample stocks following supply pressure from mills mainly pulled down sweetener prices but scattered buying by stockists and bulk consumers due to ongoing wedding season, restricted losses.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices were down by Rs 30 each to conclude at Rs 3,200-3,380 and Rs 3,190-3,370 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices quoted lower by Rs 20 each to end at Rs 3,040-3,120 and Rs 3,030-3,110 per quintal.
 

In the millgate section, sugar Malakpur and Dhampur fell by Rs 45 each to close at Rs 3,025 and Rs 3,030 per quintal.

Also, Asmoli and Sakoti shed Rs 40 each at Rs 3,080 and Rs 3,030, while Dorala, Thanabhavan, Budhana, Simbholi and Chandpur dropped by Rs 30 each at Rs 3,050, Rs 3,040, Rs 3,050, Rs 3,090 and Rs 3,030 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 29.00-36.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,200-3,380, S-30 Rs 3,190-3,370.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,040-3,120, S-30 Rs 3,030-3,110.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,060, Kinnoni Rs 3,120, Asmoli Rs 3,080, Dorala Rs 3,050, Budhana Rs 3,050, Thanabhavan Rs 3,040, Dhanora Rs 3,050, Simbholi Rs 3,090, Khatuli Rs 3,090, Dhampur Rs 3,030, Ramala Rs 3,060, Anupshaher Rs 3,060, Baghpat Rs 3,070, Morna Rs 3,070, Sakoti Rs 3,030, Chandpur Rs 3,030, Nazibabad Rs 3,060 and Malakpur Rs 3,025.
