Sugar prices fall on huge stocks position

Sugar prices drifted by Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today largely on heavy stocks position following persistent supplies from mills.

Marketmen said mounting stocks following persistent arrivals from mills mainly put pressure on the sweetner prices but wedding season demand limited the losses.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices eased by Rs 10 to settle at Rs 2,900-3,120 and Rs 2,890-3,110 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices were also down by Rs 15 each to finish at Rs 2,800-2,920 and Rs 2,790-2,955 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Dorala lost Rs 15 at Rs 2,875 per quintal.
 

Mawana, Kinnoni, Ramala, Sakoti and Nazibabad also eased by Rs 10 each to Rs 2,900, Rs 2,970, Rs 2,820, Rs 2,830 and Rs 2,810 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 30.00-34.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,900-3,120 S-30 Rs 2,890-3,110.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,800-2,970 S-30 Rs 2,790-2,955.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,900, Kinnoni Rs 2,970 Asmoli Rs 2,920 Dorala Rs 2,875 Budhana Rs 2,900 Thanabhavan Rs 2,890 Dhanora Rs 2,850 Simbholi Rs 2,970 Modi Nagar Rs 2,820, Khatuli Rs 2,950 Dhampur (gila) N.T.
