Sugar prices fall on muted demand

Sugar prices slipped by Rs 10 per quitnal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following fall in demand against ample stocks on increased supplies from millers.

Marketmen said slackened demand from bulk consumers and retailers, mainly led to decline in sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices were lower by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,890-3,990 and Rs 3,880-3,980 per quintal.

Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices fell by a similar margin to close at Rs 3,600-3,700 and Rs 3.590-3,690 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Mawana, Dorala, Asmoli and Simbholi faded by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,650, Rs 3,640, Rs 3,650 and Rs 3,680 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 41.00-43.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,900-4,000, S-30 Rs 3,890-3,990.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,610-3,700, S-30 Rs 3,600-3,690.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,650, Kinnoni Rs 3,700, Asmoli Rs 3,650, Dorala Rs 3,640, Budhana Rs 3,640, Thanabhavan Rs 3,630, Dhanora Rs 3,630, Simbholi Rs 3,680, Khatuli Rs 3,675, Dhampur Rs 3,610, Ramala Rs 3,620, Anupshaher Rs 3,610, Baghpat Rs 3,640, Morna Rs 3,640, Sakoti Rs 3,630, Chandpur Rs 3,620, Nazibabad Rs 3,610 and Malakpur Rs N.T.
