Sugar prices fall on regular supply, weak demand

Sugar prices softened by Rs 10-40 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following heavy selling by mills amid selective offtake by stockists and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said mounting of stocks on constant supplies from mills coupled with weak demand from stockist and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, mainly pulled down sweetener prices.

Sugar spot M-30 and S-30 prices enquired lower by Rs 40 each to end at Rs 3,900-3,960 and Rs 3,890-3,950 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices traded lower by Rs 10 each to finish at Rs 3,580-3,670 and Rs 3,570-3,660 per quintal.
 

Among millgate section, sugar Dhanora, Dhampur, Baghpat and Sakoti all fell by Rs 40 each to Rs 3,660, Rs 3,600, Rs 3,610 and Rs 3,630 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 40.00-43.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,900-3,960, S-30 Rs 3,890-3,950.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,580-3,670, S-30 Rs 3,570-3,660.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs N.Q., Kinnoni Rs 3,670, Asmoli Rs 3,655, Dorala Rs 3,640, Budhana Rs 3,625, Thanabhavan Rs 3,620, Dhanora Rs 3,660, Simbholi Rs 3,670, Khatuli Rs 3,650, Dhampur Rs 3,600, Ramala Rs 3,600, Anupshaher Rs 3,600, Baghpat Rs 3,610, Morna Rs 3,600, Sakoti Rs 3,630, Chandpur Rs 3,630, Nazibabad Rs 3,600 and Modinagar Rs N.Q.
