Sugar prices improve on better offtake, thin supply

Sugar prices improved by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following tight supplies from mills amid pick up in offtake.

Marketmen said that the rise in sweetener prices was mainly attributed to pick up in demand, driven by rising mercury.

Sugar Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices enquired higher by Rs 30 each to end at Rs 3,530-3,660 and Rs 3,520-3,650 per quintal.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices also traded higher by Rs 10 each to close at Rs 3,880-3,940 and Rs 3,870-3,930 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Kinnoni rose by Rs 30 to Rs 3,660, followed by Mawana and Asmoli by Rs 25 each to Rs 3,620 and Rs 3,635 per quintal.
 

Dorala and Sakoti also traded higher by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,620 and Rs 3,590.

Meanwhile, Budhana, Thanabhavan, Dhanora, Khatuli and Modinagar also went up by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,620, Rs 3,615, Rs 3,630, Rs 3,625 and Rs 3,610 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 39.00-42.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,880-3,940, S-30 Rs 3,870-3,930.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,530-3,660, S-30 Rs 3,520-3,650.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,620, Kinnoni Rs 3,660, Asmoli Rs 3,635, Dorala Rs 3,610, Budhana Rs 3,620, Thanabhavan Rs 3,615, Dhanora Rs 3,630, Simbholi Rs 3,630, Khatuli Rs 3,625, Dhampur Rs 3,580, Ramala Rs 3,540, Anupshaher Rs 3,535, Baghpat Rs 3,550, Morna Rs 3,545, Sakoti Rs 3,590, Chandpur Rs 3,590, Nazibabad Rs 3,535 and Modinagar Rs 3,610.
