Sugar prices remain flat on ample stocks, sporadic demand

Sugar prices settled on a quiet note at the wholesale market in the national capital today following sporadic buying amid adequate stocks following increased supplies from mills.

Marketmen said comfortable stocks following pick up in supplies from mills to meet current demand mainly kept sweetener prices at overnight levels.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 43.00-45.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 4,000-4,080, S-30 Rs 3,990-4,070.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,600-3,760, S-30 Rs 3,590-3,750.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,680, Kinnoni Rs 3,760, Asmoli Rs 3,720, Dorala Rs 3,685, Budhana Rs 3,680, Thanabhavan Rs 3,675, Dhanora Rs 3,710, Simbholi Rs 3,720, Khatuli Rs 3,730, Dhampur Rs 3,650, Ramala Rs 3,600, Anupshaher Rs 3,600, Baghpat Rs 3,620, Morna Rs 3,610, Sakoti Rs 3,660, Chandpur Rs 3,650, Nazibabad Rs 3,600 and Modinagar Rs 3,680.
