Sugar prices remain high on constant buying, thin supply

The rising streak in sugar remained unabated, prices improved further by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following constant buying by stockists and bulk consumers amid thin supplies from mills.

Marketmen said strong demand from stockists and bulk consumers coupled with tight arrivals mainly kept prices continually in positive territory.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices enquired higher by Rs 20 each to end at Rs 3,960-4,040 and Rs 3,950-4,030 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices edged up by Rs 10 each to settle at Rs 3,640-3,730 and Rs 3,630-3,720 per quintal.
 

In millgate section, sugar Kinnoni, Asmoli, Dhanora and Khatuli gained by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,730, Rs 3,710, Rs 3,680 and Rs 3,710 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 42.00-45.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,960-4,040, S-30 Rs 3,950-4,030.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,640-3,730, S-30 Rs 3,630-3,720.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,680, Kinnoni Rs 3,730, Asmoli Rs 3,710, Dorala Rs 3,680, Budhana Rs 3,670,Thanabhavan Rs 3,660, Dhanora Rs 3,680, Simbholi Rs 3,710, Khatuli Rs 3,710, Dhampur Rs 3,660, Ramala Rs 3,640, Anupshaher Rs 3,640, Baghpat Rs 3,660, Morna Rs 3,650, Sakoti Rs 3,660, Chandpur Rs 3,650, Nazibabad Rs 3,650 and Modi nagar 3,660.
