Sugar prices remain up on rising demand

Sugar prices shot up by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on rising demand at prevailing levels.

Marketmen attributed the persistent rise in sweetener prices to increased demand from bulk consumers and retailers amidst check in supplies by millers.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices were up by Rs 70 each to end at Rs 2,460-2,620 and Rs 2,450-2,610 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also spurted by Rs 85 each to conclude at Rs 2,280-2,450 and Rs 2,270-2,440 per quintal, respectively.

In the millgate section, sugar Budhana and Thanabhavan shot up by Rs 100 each to Rs 2,360 and Rs 2,350, while Kinnoni by Rs 85 to Rs 2,450, Simbholi and Khatuli by Rs 80 each to Rs 2,430 per quintal each.
 

Sugar Asmoli rose by Rs 70 at Rs 2,410, while Dorala, Dhanora, Dhampur, Bulandshaher and Sakoti by Rs 60 each to Rs 2,360, Rs 2,330, Rs 2,320, Rs 2,310 and Rs 2,300 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 25.00-30.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,460-2,620 S-30 Rs 2,450-2,610.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,280-2,450 S-30 Rs 2,270-2,440.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,375, Kinnoni Rs 2,450, Asmoli Rs 2,410, Dorala Rs 2,360, Budhana Rs 2,360, Thanabhavan Rs 2,350, Dhanora Rs 2,330, Simbholi Rs 2,430, Modi Nagar Rs Not Traded, Khatuli Rs 2,430, Dhampur 2,320, Ramala Rs 2,290, Bulandshaher Rs 2,310, Anupshaher Rs 2,280, Baghpat Rs 2,300, Morna Rs 2,290, Sakoti Rs 2,300, Chandpur Rs 2,290, Nazibabad Rs 2,280 and Malakpur 2,320.
