Sugar prices rise as retail demand picks

Sugar prices firmed up by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today as demand from local parties picked following beginning of new month.

However, ample stocks following persistent supplies from mills, capped the gains.

Market players said spurt in demand, triggered by beginning of new month mainly supported the upside in sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices climbed by Rs 50 each to end at Rs 2,800-3,000 and Rs 2,810-3,010 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also enquired higher by Rs 20 each to conclude at Rs 2,620-2,840 and Rs 2,610-2,830 per quintal.
 

In the millgate section, sugar Dhanora and Dhampur rose by Rs 30 each at Rs 2,640 and Rs 2,700, while Khatuli and Malakpur by Rs 25 each at Rs 2,810 and Rs 2,680 per quintal.

Prices of Mawana, Kinnoni, Asmoli Baghpat and Nazibabad also moved up by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,710, Rs 2,840, Rs 2,800, Rs 2,650 and Rs 2,640 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 28.00-34.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,800-3,000, S-30 Rs 2,810-3,010.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,620-2,840, S-30 Rs 2,610-2,830.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana New Rs 2,710 , Kinnoni Rs 2,840, Asmoli Rs 2,800, Dorala Rs 2,710, Budhana new Rs 2,715, Thanabhavan New Rs 2,705, Dhanora Rs 2,640, Simbholi New Rs 2,830, Khatuli Rs 2,810, Dhampur New 2,700, Ramala Rs 2,640, Bulandshaher Rs N.Q, Anupshaher Rs 2,640, Baghpat Rs 2,650, Morna Rs 2,650, Sakoti Rs 2,620, Chandpur Rs N.Q, Nazibabad Rs 2,640 and Malakpur New Rs 2,680.
