Sugar prices rise on thin supply, brisk demand

Sugar prices climbed by Rs 90 per quintal in the national capital today following tight supply against brisk demand.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 price jumped up from Rs 2,980-3,250 and Rs 2,970-3,240 to settle at Rs 3,070-3,320 and Rs 3,060-3,310 per quintal respectively.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also spurted from Rs 2,810-3,105 and Rs 2,800-3,905 to finish at Rs 2,860-3,130 and Rs 2,850-3,120 per quintal.

Among millgate including duty section, Sugar Modinagar swifted by Rs 80 to Rs 2,990 per quintal, Dhampur jumped up by Rs 75 at Rs 2,975, while Chandpur showed a rise of Rs 70 at Rs 2,955 per quintal.
 

Sugar Budhana and Thanabhavan rose by Rs 55 each at Rs 3,010 and Rs 3,005 per quintal, while Dorala, Anupshar, Morna, Nazibabad and Bulandshar all edged up by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,000, Rs 2,860, Rs 2,890, Rs 2,870 and Rs 2,975 per quintal respectively.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,070-3,320, S-30 Rs 3,060-3,310.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,860-3,130; S-30 Rs 2,850-3,120.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,000, Kinnoni 3,130, Asmoli 3,070, Dorala 3,000, Budhana 3,010, Thanabhavan 3,005, Dhanora 3,000, Simbholi 3,090, Modi Nagar Rs 2,990, Khatuli 3,085, Dhampur 2,975, Ramala 2,880, Bulandshar 2,975, Anupshar 2,860, Baghpat 2,890, Morna 2,890, Sakoti 2,940, Chandpur 2,955, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 2,870.
