Sugar prices surge on brisk demand

Sugar prices firmed up by Rs 40 per quintal in the national capital today following restricted supply from mills amid brisk demand.

Marketmen said higher demand for the marriage season against restricted arrivals from mills mainly pushed up the sweatner prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices traded higher at Rs 2920-3210 and Rs 2910-3200 from Rs 2920-3180 and Rs 2910-3170 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices asked higher at Rs 2740-3060 and Rs 2730-3050 instead of Rs 2740-3040 and Rs 2730-3030 per quintal.

Among millgate section, Sugar Chandpur and Simbholi hardened by Rs 50 each at Rs 2815 and Rs 3030 per quintal.
 

Sugar Modinagar, Khatuli, Dhampur, Bulandshar and Sakoti surged by Rs 40 each at Rs 2850, Rs 3030, Rs 2840, Rs 2835 and Rs 2840 per quintal respectively.

Prices of Budhana and Thanabhavan spurted by Rs 35 each at Rs 2870 and Rs 2865 per quintal, while Asmoli, Dorala and Dhanora gained by Rs 30 each at Rs 3040, Rs 2870 and Rs 2855 per quintal.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,920-3,210, S-30 Rs 2,910-3,200.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,740-3,060; S-30 Rs 2,730-3,050.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 2855, Kinnoni 3,060, Asmoli 3,040, Dorala 2870, Budhana 2870, Thanabhavan 2865, Dhanora 2855, Simbholi 3,030, Modi Nagar Rs 2,850, Khatuli 3,030, Dhampur 2,840, Ramala 2,780, Bulandshar 2,835, Anupshar 2,740, Baghpat 2,790, Morna 2,790, Sakoti 2,840, Chandpur 2,815, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 2,760.
