Sugar prices driven by Rs 130 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today, dragged down by ample stocks following persistent supplies from mills amid muted demand from stockists as well as bulk consumers.
Marketmen said relentless supplies from mills coupled with slackened demand due to month-end, weighed on sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices suffered the most by dropping Rs 130 each to settle the day at Rs 3,760-3,850 and Rs 3,750-3,840 instead of Rs 3,880-3,980 and Rs 3,870-3,970 per quintal.
