Sugar prices up by Rs 50 per quintal on rising mercury

Sugar prices surged by Rs 50 per quintal in the wholesale sugar market at national capital today on the back of brisk demand from stockist and bulk consumers amid restricted supplies.

Marketmen said increased buying by stockists and bulk consumers to meet summer season demand, largely led to the rise in sweetner prices.

Sugar spot M-30 and S-30 prices were up by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,250-3,440 and Rs 3,230-3,420 per quintal.

Similarly mill delivery M-30 and S-30 quoted higher by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,120-3,275 and Rs 3,100-3,255 per quintal respectively.

Among millgate section, sugar Dhanora and Dhampur rose by Rs 40 each at Rs 3,160 and Rs 3,130 per quintal.
 

Prices of sugar Mawana, Asmoli, Simbholi, Modinagar, Bulandshar and Chandpur were up by Rs.30 each to Rs.3,165, Rs.3,250, Rs.3,270, Rs.3,160, Rs.3,140 and Rs.3,130 per quintal respectively.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,250-3,440; S-30 Rs 3,230-3,420.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,120-3,275; S-30 Rs 3,100-3255.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,165; Kinnoni 3,275; Asmoli 3,250; Dorala 3,190; Budhana 3,160; Thanabhavan 3,150; Dhanora 3,160; Simbholi 3,270; Modi Nagar Rs 3,160; Khatuli 3,230; Dhampur 3,130; Ramala 3,150; Bulandshar 3,140; Anupshar 3,130; Baghpat 3,160; Morna 3,150; Sakoti 3,140; Chandpur 3,130 and Nazibabad 3,140.
