Sugar prices up on increase buying, tight supply

Sugar prices firmed up by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following pick up in demand amid thin supplies ahead of new month.

Marketmen said increased buying on hopes of pick up in demand in the coming days mainly influenced sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices enquired higher by Rs 30 each to end at Rs 3,150-3,280 and Rs 3,140-3,270 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices were higher by a similar margin to trade at Rs 3,000-3,130 and Rs 2,990-3,120 per quintal.

In millgate section, sugar Mawana, Thanabhavan, Budhana, Kinnoni, Dhanora, Dhampur and Dorala advanced by Rs 30 each at Rs 3,030, Rs 3,020, Rs 3,030, Rs 3,130, Rs 3,030, Rs 3,010 and Rs 3,030 per quintal respectively.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,150-3,280, S-30 Rs 3,140-3,270.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,000-3,130, S-30 Rs 2,990-3,120.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,030, Kinnoni Rs 3,130, Asmoli Rs 3,100, Dorala Rs 3,030, Budhana Rs 3,030, Thanabhavan Rs 3,020, Dhanora Rs 3,030, Simbholi Rs 3,090, Khatuli Rs 3,070, Dhampur Rs 3,010, Ramala Rs 3,000, Anupshaher Rs 2,990, Baghpat Rs 3,010, Morna Rs 3,010, Sakoti Rs 3,020, Chandpur Rs 3,000, Nazibabad Rs 2,990 and Malakpur Rs 3,015.
