Sugar prices up on increased offtake, tight stocks

Sugar prices rose by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased offtake by bulk consumers amid tight supplies.

Marketmen said, better demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid restricted supplies pushed up sweetener prices.

Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices went up by Rs 20 each to end the day at Rs 3,050-3,240 and Rs 3,040-3,230 per quintal.

In the mill gate section, sugar Kinnoni and Malakpur advanced by Rs 20 each to end at Rs 3,240 and Rs 3,070 per quintal.

While, Asmoli, Dorala, Thanabhavan and Budhana edged up by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,140, Rs 3,100, Rs 3,110 and Rs 3,100 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 34.00-37.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,300-3,460, S-30 Rs 3,290-3,450.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,050-3,240, S-30 Rs 3,040-3,230.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,090, Kinnoni Rs 3,240, Asmoli Rs 3,140, Dorala Rs 3,100, Budhana Rs 3,100, Thanabhavan Rs 3,110, Dhanora Rs 3,150, Simbholi Rs 3,140, Khatuli Rs 3,190, Dhampur Rs 3,040, Sakoti 3,050, Modinagar 3,070, Shamli 3,040, Malakpur 3,070, Ramala not available, Anupshaher N.A, Baghpat N.A.,Morna N.A., Chandpur N.A., Nazibabad N.A and Nanota N.A.
