Sugar prices up on stockists buying, rising demand

Sugar millgate prices rose by Rs 5 per quintal in the wholesale sugar market at national capital today following increased buying by stockists to meet rising demand from bulk consumers.

Elsewhere, sugar spot prices remained unalatered on sporadic buying by retailers.

Marketmen said increased buying by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, mainly supported the upside in sugar millgate prices.

In millgate section, prices of Kinnoni and Modinagar moved up by Rs.5 each to Rs.3,335 and Rs.3,245 per quintal.

Prices of Asmoli and Khatuli also increased by same margin of Rs.5 each at Rs.3,285 and Rs.3,290 per quintal.
 

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,350-3,550; S-30 Rs 3,330-3,530.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,130-3,330; S-30 Rs 3,110-3310.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,240; Kinnoni 3,335; Asmoli 3,285; Dorala 3,240; Budhana 3,240; Thanabhavan 3,230; Dhanora 3,230; Simbholi 3,300; Modi Nagar Rs 3,245; Khatuli 3,290; Dhampur 3,210; Ramala 3,150; Bulandshar 3,210; Anupshar 3,130; Baghpat 3,160; Morna 3,150; Sakoti 3,190; Chandpur 3,190 and Nazibabad 3,140.
