Sugar prices up strong buying, fall in supply

Sugar prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today mainly supported by tight supplies from mills against strong demand from bulk consumers, driven by summer season.

Marketmen said strong demand from bulk consumers, particularly soft-drink makers in view of summer season coupled with tight supplies, mainly attributed the rise in the sweetner prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices rallied from Rs 3,700-3,800 and Rs 3,690-3,790 to Rs. 3,750-3,800 and Rs 3,740-3,790 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices traded up from Rs 3,400-3,520 and Rs 3,390-3,510 to Rs 3,400-3,550 and Rs 3,390-3,540 per quintal.
 

In the millgate section, sugar Simbholi gained the most by Rs 40 at Rs 3,540, followed by Khatuli by Rs 35 to Rs 3,535 per quintal.

Sugar Kinnoni, Budhana and Thanabhavan looked up by Rs 30 each at Rs 3,550, Rs 3,490 and Rs 3,480 per quintal.

Prices of Mawana, Dhampur, Dorala and Sakoti moved up by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,480, Rs 3,460, Rs 3,480 and Rs 3,460 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 37.00-41.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,750-3,800, S-30 Rs 3,740-3,790.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,400-3,550, S-30 Rs 3,390-3,540.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,480, Kinnoni Rs 3,550, Asmoli Rs 3,500, Dorala Rs 3,480, Budhana Rs 3,490, Thanabhavan Rs 3,480, Dhanora Rs 3,470, Simbholi Rs 3,540, Khatuli Rs 3,535, Dhampur Rs 3,460, Ramala Rs 3,400, Anupshaher Rs 3,400, Baghpat Rs 3,410, Morna Rs 3,410, Sakoti Rs 3,460, Chandpur Rs 3,440, Nazibabad Rs 3,400 and Malakpur Rs 3,460.
