Sugar remains up on rising demand

Sugar prices recovered up to 50 paise per kilo at the wholesale market in national capital today on rising demand from bulk consumers amid thin supplies from mills.

Marketmen said apart from increased offtake by bulk consumers and retailers due to seasonal demand, fall in supplies from millers, influenced the sweetener prices.

Sugar spot M-30 and S-30 prices improved by 50 paise each to settle at Rs 34.80-36.50 and Rs 34.50-36.25 per kg.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices were up by 30 paise each to Rs 32.70-34.50 and Rs 32.50-34.10 per kg.

In the millgate section, sugar kinnoni traded 30 paise higher at Rs 34.50 per kg, while Dhampur by 25 paise at Rs 33.25 per kg.
 

Prices of Asmoli, Budhana, Ramala, Anupshar, Baghpat and Morna rose by 20 paise each at Rs 33.90, Rs 33.70, Rs 32.90, Rs 32.70, Rs 33.00 and Rs 32.90 per kg, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 39-40 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 (Rs 34.80-36.50); S-30 (Rs 34.50-36.25).

Mill delivery: M-30 (Rs 32.70-34.50); S-30 (Rs 32.50-34.10).

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana (Rs 33.60); Kinnoni (Rs 34.50); Asmoli (Rs 33.90); Dorala (Rs 33.70); Budhana (Rs 33.70); Thanabhavan (Rs 33.60); Dhanora (Rs 33.65); Simbholi (Rs 34.20); Modi Nagar (Rs 33.50); Khatuli (Rs 34.00); Dhampur (Rs 33.25); Ramala (Rs 32.90); Bulandshahr (Rs 33.40); Anupshahr (Rs 32.70); Baghpat (Rs 33.00); Morna (Rs 32.90); Sakoti (Rs 33.30); Chandpur (Rs 33.20) and Nazibabad (Rs 32.80).
