Sugar slipped on lower demand

Both, medium and small variety sugar prices slipped modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to selling by stockists amid lower demand on the back of ample supply.

Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 10/7 per quintal to Rs 2,752/2,845 from Tuesday's close of 2,762/2,852.

Medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 2/2 per quintal to Rs 2,900/3,050 as against Rs 2,902/3,052 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,752/2,845 (Rs 2,762/2,852).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,900/3,050 (Rs 2,902/3,052.
