Sugar slips as new stocks arrive, muted demand

Sugar prices remained under pressure at the wholesale market in the national capital today and fell by Rs 40 per quintal, dragged down by arrivals of new stocks in the market amid muted demand on the last day of month.

Marketmen said besides fall in demand as today being the last day of month, arrivals of new stocks in the markets, kept pressure on sweetner prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 declined by Rs 40 each to settle at Rs 2,750-2,950 per quintal.

However, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices were maintained at their last levels on some support.

In the millgate section, Baghpat and Morna dipped by Rs 40 each to end the day at Rs 2,630 per quintal each.
 

Prices of Nazibabad were down Rs 30 at Rs 2,620 while Khatuli eased by Rs 15 at Rs 2,785 per quital.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 28.00-34.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,750-2,950, S-30 Rs 2,740-2,940.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,610-2,820, S-30 Rs 2,600-2,810.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana New Rs 2,690 , Kinnoni Rs 2,820, Asmoli Rs 2,780, Dorala Rs 2,660, Budhana new Rs 2,705, Thanabhavan New Rs 2,695, Dhanora Rs 2,610, Simbholi New Rs 2,815, Khatuli Rs 2,785, Dhampur New 2,670, Ramala Rs 2,620, Bulandshaher Rs N.Q, Anupshaher Rs 2,620, Baghpat Rs 2,630, Morna Rs 2,630, Sakoti Rs 2,600, Chandpur Rs N.Q, Nazibabad Rs 2,620 and Malakpur New Rs 2,655.
