Prices of both varieties of sugar softened at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to sustained offtake from stockists and bulk consumers.
Small sugar (S-30) edged down by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 2,610/2,751 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,612/2,751.
Medium sugar (M-30) also eased by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 2,700/2,882 as compared Rs 2,702/2,882, yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,610/2,751 (R 2,612/2,751).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,700/2,882 (Rs 2,702/2,882).
