Sugar softens on reduced offtake

Weak conditions prevailed at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today as prices fell by up to Rs 20 per quintal due to reduced offtake by bulk consuming and stockists.

Marketmen said besides reduced offtake by bulk consumer and stockists against sufficient stocks position, mainly weighed on sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 eased to Rs 3,980-4,080 and Rs 3,970-4,070 against last close of Rs 4,000-4,100 and Rs 3,990-4,090 per quintal, respectively.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 followed suit and slipped to Rs 3,620-3,770 and Rs 3,610-3,760 from previous levels of Rs 3,620-3,780 and Rs 3,610-3,770 per quintal respectively.
 

In the millgate section, Kinnoni, Asmoli and Khatauli were also quoted lower at Rs 3,770, Rs 3,760 and Rs 3,765 instead of Rs 3,780, Rs 3,770 and Rs 3,770 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 39.00-43.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,980-4,080, S-30 Rs 3,970-4,070.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,620-3,770, S-30 Rs 3,610-3,760.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs N.Q., Kinnoni Rs 3,770, Asmoli Rs 3,760, Dorala Rs 3,760, Budhana Rs 3,750, Thanabhavan Rs 3,745, Dhanora Rs 3,750, Simbholi Rs N.Q, Khatuli Rs 3,765, Dhampur Rs 3,710, Ramala Rs 3,640, Anupshaher Rs 3,620, Baghpat Rs 3,645, Morna Rs 3,640, Sakoti Rs 3,710, Chandpur Rs 3,675, Nazibabad Rs 3,630, Modinagar N.Q., Shamli 3,720 and Nanota 3,630.
