Sugar millgate prices softened by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following sustained arrivals from mills amid selective buying by stockist and bulk consumers.
At the same time, sugar spot prices showed a marginal rise of Rs 10 per quintal on account of "Raksha-Bandhan" festival demand.
Marketmen said uninterrupted supplies from mills along with need base buying by stockist and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, particularly brought down the prices of mills.

On the other hand, festive demand of Raksha-Bandhan mainly registered a moderate rise in spot prices, they said.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices looked up by Rs 10 each to end at Rs 3,900-4,000 and Rs 3,890-3,990 per quintal.
On the other hand, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices eased by Rs 10 each to end at 3,600-3,690 and Rs 3,590-3,680 per quintal respectively.
Among millgate section, sugar Budhana, Thanabhavan, Dhanora and Sakoti slipped by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,610 and rest all at Rs 3,600 each, while Khatuli sheded Rs 15 at Rs 3,660 per quintal.
