Sugar prices advanced by up to Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists against thin supplies from mills.
Marketmen said, persistent buying by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drinks and ice-cream makers against restricted supplies, mainly kept sweetener prices higher.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices advanced by Rs 20 each to 4,000-4,100 and Rs 3,890-4,090 per quintal, respectively.
