Sugar strengthens on rising seasonal demand

Both varieties of sugar continued to spurt at the Vashi wholesale market here today on sustained stockists and millers offtake amidst rising summer seasonal demand.

Medium sugar (M-30) climbed by Rs 80/74 to Rs 3,322/ 3,456 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,242/3,382.

Small Sugar (S-30) surged by Rs 76/90 to Rs 3,206/3,352 as compared to Rs 3,130/3,262 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,206/3,352 (Rs 3,130/3,262).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,322/3,456 (Rs 3,242/3,382).
