Sugar up as demand from local parties picks up

Sugar prices rose further by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased buying by stockists and bulk consumers to meet demand from local parties.

Marketmen said persistent buying by stockists and bulk consumers to meet increased demand from local parties, following beginning of new month, mainly kept sweetener prices higher.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices traded higher at Rs 2,640-2,800 and Rs 2,630-2,790, revealing a gain of Rs 10 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 traded higher at Rs 2,500-2,660 and Rs 2,490-2,650 as against previous closing of Rs 2,490-2,640 and Rs 2,480-2,630 per quintal.
 

In millgate section, sugar Mawana and Dhanora rose by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,540 and Rs 2,530 per quintal.

Prices of Budhana, Dhampur and Bulandshaher also moved up by Rs 10 each to Rs 2,535, Rs 2,510 and Rs 2,490 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 27.00-32.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,640-2,800 S-30 Rs 2,630-2,790.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,500-2,660 S-30 Rs 2,490-2,650.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,540, Kinnoni Rs 2,660, Asmoli Rs 2,650, Dorala Rs 2,530, Budhana Rs 2,535, Thanabhavan Rs 2,525, Dhanora Rs 2,530, Simbholi Rs 2,650, Khatuli Rs 2,645, Dhampur 2,510, Ramala Rs 2,510, Bulandshaher Rs 2,490, Anupshaher Rs 2,490, Baghpat Rs 2,530, Morna Rs 2,520, Sakoti Rs 2,500, Chandpur Rs 2,490, Nazibabad Rs 2,490 and Malakpur 2,490.
