Sugar weakens low demand; heavy supply

Sugar prices dropped by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today due to slackened demand from bulk consumers amidst higher supplies by mills.

Marketmen said low demand from bulk consumers and retailers against adequate stocks on higher supplies by mills, mainly put pressure on sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices traded lower by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,780-3,040 and Rs 2,770-3,020 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also enquired lower by Rs 25 each to Rs 2,740-2,885 and Rs 2,730-2,860 per quintal.

In millgate section, sugar Mawana, Modinagar, Dorala Dhampur and Khatuli dipped by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,770, Rs 2,750 Rs 2,770, 2,750 and Rs 2,830 per quintal.
 

Asmoli, Budhana, Thanabhavan and Dhanora slipped by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,830, Rs 2,780, Rs 2,770 and Rs 2,760 while Kinnoni fell by Rs 25 at Rs 2,885 per quintal.

Prices of Ramala, Anupshar, Baghpat, Morna and Nazibabad also moved down by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,760, Rs 2,730, Rs 2,770, Rs 2,780 and Rs 2,750 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 32.00-35.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,780-3,040 S-30 Rs 2,770-3,020.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs.2,740-2,885 S-30 Rs.2,730-2,860.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,770, Kinnoni Rs 2,885, Asmoli Rs 2,830, Dorala Rs 2,770, Budhana Rs 2,780, Thanabhavan Rs 2,770, Dhanora Rs 2,760, Simbholi Rs 2,860, Modi Nagar Rs 2,750, Khatuli Rs 2,830, Dhampur Rs 2,740, Ramala Rs 2,760, Bulandshahr Rs N.T., Anupshahr Rs 2,730, Baghpat Rs 2,770, Morna Rs 2,780, Sakoti Rs 2,740, Chandpur Rs 2,740, Nazibabad Rs 2,750.
