Sugar weakens on ample stocks, selective buying

Sugar prices eased by Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased arrivals from mills amid limited buying by stockists and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said, increased supplies from mills against fall in demand, mainly pulled down the sweetener prices.

Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices faded by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,620-3,715 and Rs 3,610-3,705 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Asmoli and Dhampur eased down by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,700 and Rs 3,630 per quintal.

Prices of Mawana, Khatuli, Baghpat and Chandpur also moved down by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,655, Rs 3,700, Rs 3,640 and Rs 3,630 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 42.00-47.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,950-4,000, S-30 Rs 3,940-3,990.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,620-3,715, S-30 Rs 3,600-3,705.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,655, Kinnoni Rs 3,715, Asmoli Rs 3,700, Dorala Rs 3,660, Budhana Rs 3,665,Thanabhavan Rs 3,655, Dhanora Rs 3,670, Simbholi Rs 3,695, Khatuli Rs 3,700, Dhampur Rs 3,630, Ramala Rs 3,640, Anupshaher Rs 3,630, Baghpat Rs 3,640, Morna Rs 3,640, Sakoti Rs 3,650, Chandpur Rs 3,630, Nazibabad Rs 3,630 and Modinagar 3,660.
