Music producer Suge Knight was confined to a wheelchair and escorted into a Los Angeles courtroom.

The 49-year-old former rapper was due in court for a preliminary hearing for his pending robbery case. He and comedian Katt Williams were accused of stealing a camera owned by a celebrity photographer at Beverly Hills, reported Ace Showbiz.

Last month Knight attended the same court to have a hearing for his murder case. He collapsed and was rushed to a hospital. Judge Ronald Coen who witnessed the incident said that the wheelchair was only used as a precaution.

"Apparently you mentioned to the deputy personnel that you were paralyzed on one side. They were concerned that you might fall," the judge said.

After seeing Knight on the wheelchair, Knight's lawyer Matthew Fletcher felt irritated, calling the treatment "degrading and humiliating."

He later said that it made Knight look like the image of Dr Hannibal Lecter in thriller "The Silence of the Lambs".

Knight felt the treatment was unnecessary and made his condition even worse. "I'm being chained to some type of chair and they're pushing me... I walked perfectly fine from county jail to the bus and from the bus to here," Knight told Coen in court. "It makes matters worse."

In response to Knight's claim, the judge guaranteed that it wouldn't happen again. "If you can walk, you can walk. It won't happen again," the judge said.

Knight said in court that he discharged his former lawyer on the robbery case, David Kenner, and wanted to represent himself.

However, Coen shot down the idea of Knight representing himself and gave him until May 27 to find new attorney.

Knight is scheduled to come to court again next week for a preliminary hearing in his separate murder case. Prosecutors accused him of killing Terry Carter and injuring filmmaker Cle "Bone" Sloan after unintentionally running over the two men at a parking lot of a burger stand in Campton.
