An 11-year-old boy from the Dalit family, which consumed poison following the mysterious disappearance of a female member after being raped, died, raising the toll in the tragic incident to three, police said today.

The Dalit couple, who was under depression since February as their teenaged daughter went missing months after being raped, yesterday consumed poison after administering the substance to their three children in Bheri Akbarpur village.

The family members have been identified as Mohinder (42), his wife Babli (40) and their children Usha (14), Sanjay (11) and Rajesh (9), police said.

Usha and Babli died during treatment yesterday.

Sanjay too died late last night during treatment, officials said.

According to police, the couple's teenaged daughter was kidnapped by a man named Rohtas, who had been arrested and at present is in judicial custody, on May 15 last year and raped for two days. She was again kidnapped on February 12 and a case was registered against some persons in this connection but there is no clue about the girl till today.

Meanwhile, the Haryana government today ordered an inquiry into the alleged rape and disappearance of the girl.

Haryana Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes minister Geeta Bhukkal described the suicide bid as "unfortunate" and said stern action would be taken against those found guilty.

"An inquiry has already been ordered in the case of rape of a girl who went missing," she said.

Main opposition INLD alleged the family was harassed by police due to which they had to take the extreme step.

The party activists burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Hisar.

INLD district unit leader Umed Singh Lohan said, "Mohinder had filed a case regarding rape of his minor daughter, who is now missing. But police threatened the Dalit family to withdraw the case. Due to the negligence of the police department, the family was forced to take the extreme step.
