ASI Apurba Bhattacharya, on duty near gate 1A, swallowed sedatives and slashed his wrist with a razor, which was noticed by colleagues on duty who immediately took him to Kolkata Police Hospital, police sources said.
Bhattacharya, a resident of Singur in Hooghly district, was under severe strain due to personal reasons, they said.
