Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal today lashed out at the Congress government, alleging that it had organised a "fake" job mela that had left several unemployed youths "disappointed".
The former Punjab deputy chief minister's remarks came a day after the Punjab government said that 27,000 appointment letters, including 3,000 for government posts, were given to unemployed youths at mega job fair in Mohali.
Sukhbir asked the state government to stop "enacting dramas like fake job fairs" and claimed that just 300 job letters were distributed at the end of the 'Rozgar Mela' in which four lakh youth had registered.

"The government had failed to even deliver on this front. The government sponsored job fairs are a flop because it failed to create norms for recruiting technically qualified students. Students who had been promised jobs through these fairs feel cheated and betrayed," he said.
