An audio clip where NCP MP Supriya Sule is purportedly heard threatening a former party worker who has joined the BJP has surfaced on social media.
Sule, NCP candidate from Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, denied that the conversation took place.
In the clip, she is purportedly heard confronting BJP worker Rahul Shewale on phone over his reported statement that the Pawar family and Sule insulted him when he was with the NCP.
She is heard asking when did she insult him, and adding, "It is okay that you joined the BJP, but do not mess with Supriya Sule. I am not a 'contractor'. I will come to your house and thrash (you)....If you defame me, I will file a defamation case.
Shewale is heard claiming that his statements were reported wrongly by newspapers.
When asked by reporters, Sule, daughter of NCP chief Sharad Pawar, denied that the conversation took place, and said she would file a defamation case against Shewale.

"If he is saying I threatened him, why didn't he go to the police? Why he approached the media? Why this clip appeared few days before the polling?" she asked.
Polling will be held in Baramati in the third phase, on April 23.
Shewale should get the clip authenticated and only after that she would reply, Sule said.
Shewale maintained that she threatened him. He had not levelled any allegations against the NCP MP, he told reporters.
