Senior NCP leader Supriya Sule today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raised the issue of losses faced by Maharashtra farmers due to unseasonal rains in the state over the past three days and demanded a package for them.

Sule said that the farmers in the state were earlier dealing with the issue of drought and now the crops have been damaged by unseasonal rain. She also demanded a package for Maharashtra farmers.

Several parts of the state received unseasonal rains, which has damaged rabi crops.

Sule highlighted various pending projects, which required assistance from the Centre. She also talked about the alleged "neglect" faced by the state in the railway budget.

The Baramati MP also demanded a separate fund allocation for the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, under which parliamentarians have to adopt villages and develop them.
