Sultry weather in Delhi in the absence of rains

Delhi residents continued to reel under hot and humid weather conditions as rains eluded the national capital.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 38.4 degree Celsius, two points above normal and substantially higher than the 37 degrees recorded yesterday.

The minimum was recorded at 28 degree Celsius, two notches above normal, slightly higher than previous day's reading.

According to the Met office, no rainfall was recorded in the city today. Humidity level swayed between 81 per cent and 37 per cent.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37 degree Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 27 degree Celsius.
 

"With rain deficit almost touching 40 per cent for this monsoon season, the day temperature is also closing on to the 40-degree mark these days," said a MeT official.

The Met department has forecast partly cloudy sky for tomorrow.

"The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 38 degree Celsius while the minimum may touch 29 degree Celsius," the Met office added.
