With little or no rainfall in the two state during the past few days, the maximum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana continued to rise and hovered a few notches above normal level today.
Chandigarh residents experienced a hot and humid day with maximum temperature here settling at 37.4 degree Celsius, two degrees above normal, a MeT report said here.
Bhiwani and Hisar in Haryana braved the hot weather recording above normal maximums of 41.4 degree Celsius and 41 degree Celsius respectively.

In Punjab, Amritsar residents experienced a hot day at 40.2 degree Celsius, up by two notches.
There was no relief from sweltering heat in Patiala and Ludhiana as the two towns recorded respective maximums of 39.4 degree Celsius and 39.1 degree Celsius.
