Summer festival to begin at Mount Abu tomorrow

A two-day summer festival packed with cultural shows and contests aimed at attracting tourists from all over India and abroad to Mount Abu in Rajasthan will begin tomorrow.

The festival will begin with "Mount Abu Carnival", a procession showcasing art and culture, that will take off from Nakki Lake in the morning and end at Polo ground, Rajasthan Tourism department sources said here today.

Various contests and competitions, including Abu Quit, Matka Race, Matka Phor, a cricket match among others will be held for the tourists. Trekking and hiking from Nakki Lake to sunset point have also been planned for the participants.
 

A number of cultural programmes by renowned artists would also be organised on both evenings.

The summer festival is organised every year coinciding with Buddha Purnima by the Department of Tourism and district administration to boost tourism potential of the sole hill station of Rajasthan.
