Sunny afternoon after fog leads to cancellation of 19 trains

The sun shone bright over the national capital in the afternoon dissipating the early morning fog which led to the cancellation of 16 trains.

Visibility was recorded at 400 meters at 5.30 AM and 8.30 AM at Safdarjung. At 2.30 PM, it was 1500 meters.

"16 trains have been cancelled due to fog. 90 trains are running late and 49 have been rescheduled," a senior railway official said.

However, normal flight operations were reported at the IGI Airport, its spokesperson said.

The city recorded a minimum of 11 degrees Celsius and a high of 27.1 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average.
 

The humidity level oscillated between 98 and 27 per cent, a Met official said.

The weatherman has predicted mainly clear skies for tomorrow with shallow to moderate fog in some areas.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle at 27 and 12 degrees respectively, it said.
